Missing Teeth

Missing Teeth

Missing teeth do not only cause an unsightly smile but have a dramatic effect on the bite, function and the gum health of your mouth.

If a gap is left unrestored the adjacent teeth can move and tip. This can lead to grinding of the teeth giving subtle symptoms such as uneven tooth wear, jaw joint pain and headaches. When teeth have tipped, this can have a detrimental affect on gum health as it is more difficult to clean around them. If many teeth are missing, it can affect the muscles in your cheeks and around your mouth, causing sagging or lines.

Treatment options

There are several different treatment options available;

The most appropriate treatment will depend on the number of teeth that are missing, where they are in your mouth and the condition of any remaining teeth. Your dentist will help you decide which option is best for you.
