National Smile Month

National Smile Month - May 18th - June 17th. This year the campaign is "Brush for Health". The British Dental Health Foundation has revealed that there could be a link between oral health and overall body health.

This aim of this year's campaign is to present the growing body of evidence suggesting that people with gum disease are more at risk of heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes and, in the case of pregnant women, giving birth to underweight babies. The message is that by keeping gum disease under control you can prevent it from developing into more serious general health conditions.

If you are interested in any further information, please feel free to phone a member of the reception team and we will send you a leaflet.

During National Smile Month we are running a "Lucky Dip" for the children of the practice. It costs £1 to enter, and they pick a prize from a mouth shape box. The prizes are a mixture of dental accessories, little toys and pencils. Some of the bags contain a £5 "toys R us" vouchers. The proceeds of this competition are going to The Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Research fund at The Birmingham Children's Hospital.
