Denplan Essentials

Denplan Essentials offers you an easy way to budget for the costs of routine preventative dental care. Affordable monthly payments entitle you to routine examinations, X-rays and hygiene treatments as specified in your contract. Any additional treatments will be paid for by you at private fee rates.

It also includes Supplementary Insurance and Denplan Insurance Services. (See bottom of the page)

Denplan Essentials offers you:
Routine and preventive dental care:

  • dental examinations (up to the maximum detailed in your contract)
  • X-rays
  • scaling and polishing or other hygiene treatment (up to the maximum detailed in your contract)
  • preventive dental advice
  • no assessment appointment required
Denplan Essentials does not cover the following:
  • the costs of any restorative dental treatments including fillings, crowns, bridges or dentures (at the discretion of your dentist)
  • laboratory fees/prescriptions
  • any treatment specified as excluded by the dentist in your contract
  • referral to a specialist and specialist treatment
  • orthodontics, implants, cosmetic treatment
Your Supplementary Insurance.

This summary is a brief description of your Supplementary Insurance which is underwritten by AXA PPP healthcare limited. It does not contain the full terms and conditions.

Supplementary Insurance is a mandatory element of the Denplan Care, Denplan Essentials and Plans for Children products.

Supplementary Insurance covers;

  • Worldwide emergency cover.
  • Permanent treatment following a dental injury (up to £10,000 per incident).
  • Temporary emergency dental treatment when in the UK (up to £400 per incident, total limit payable £800 per calendar year, individual policy limits apply).
  • Temporary emergency dental treatment when overseas (up to £412 per incident. Total limit payable £800 per calendar year).
  • Hospital cash payment; £60 for every night spent in hospital under the care of a dental or oral/maxillo-facial consultant for treatment to head and neck
  • Mouth cancer cover; Up to £12,000 mouth cancer treatment costs for up to 18 months following positive diagnosis. Smokers are not excluded from this cover.

Your Supplementary Insurance does not cover:

  • Any treatment which was prescribed, planned, diagnosed as necessary or is currently taking place at the commencement date.
  • Permanent treatment in a dental emergency.
  • Emergency treatment provided by your own dentist or a dentist/specialist acting on your dentist's behalf.
  • Dental injuries caused whilst training for or participating in contact sports unless recommended mouth protection is worn.
  • Injury caused other than by a sudden, unexpected, direct external impact to the mouth.
  • Implants, cosmetic treatment or any treatment not deemed to be clinically necessary.
  • Mouth cancer diagnosed before joining Denplan or within 90 days after the date you joined Denplan (or for which tests or consultations began within those 90 days).
Denplan Insurance Services provides;
  • 24 hour worldwide emergency helpline.
  • Arrangement of Supplementary Insurance cover.
  • Assisting with any enquiries regarding your insurance policy.
